LG Introduces Speaker That Floats and Works Underwater

Bluetooth speakerphone has autonomy to function up to 10 hours.Device will be detailed during CES 2017

After confirming that it will introduce new smartphones during the CES 2017, LG announced that it will also present a new Bluetooth sound box that, among its abilities, can float.

The PJ9 box looks futuristic and uses magnets to float on its base. The loudspeaker also works underwater and, according to the manufacturer, would be submerged for up to 30 minutes without suffering any damage to a depth of up to one meter.

With a single battery charge, the PJ9 can run for up to 10 hours. LG says that when the battery runs out, the speaker goes down slowly until it touches its support base, which serves as the charging station.

LG has not yet given price or release information to the portable speaker, but will give more details about the device next week during the technology event in Las Vegas.
