Google to buy HTCs Smartphone Division for $1.1 Billion:

HTC said on Thursday that company will sell parts of its smart phones to Google in $ 1.1 billion as the US giant look to control its hardware business. In deal Google will take half of its staff about 2,000 people to their workstation, many of them are already working on the Silicon Valley firm pixel handset and also with the IP licensing.

Finalized By Next Year

HTC spokesman said in his interview that company is expected to complete its deal in the early next year. For Google this deal will reinforce the commitment to smart phones and also effect the overall investment of its hardware business. For long term the talented teams Google will access to HTC IP support the Pixel Smartphone family. This deal will make investments by Google in Taiwan.

HTC Will Continue Making Smartphone’s

HTC will continuous to develop the Smartphone under its own brand, company had fallen more than 12% since January. Company also working on its new flagship phone. Google state with HTC that “the deal will stay at long term basis, and both companies will develop in this duration a premium smart phone for their users”.

Will Work on Future Pixel Phones

After the deal between HTC and Google, both companies are looking helpful for each other, Google say that HTC team will join Google as a part of hardware organization in Google and they also work on Google new Pixel Smartphone line, and we both are excited to work together as a one team.It would not be the first foray into hardware for Google, which in 2012 acquired handset maker Motorola for $12.5bn, only to sell it two years later for less than $3bn.The firm’s revenue fell to a 13-year low of Tw$3bn ($100 million) in August and it suffered a ninth consecutive quarterly loss of Tw$1.95bn in April-June.
