According to the report of Reddit, a faked app that totally mimicked WhatsApp have cheated more than 1 million users on Google Store, Reddit taken this news form Forbes and Hacker news. The fake app was full of commercials ads, and also according to some source there been hacker who wants to hack the personal information of users to cheat them in future.

An invisible space added at the end of the development name of the application in question which helped to confuse users who downloaded the fake WhatsApp more than a million times. The trick to use the spaces, asterisks and semicolons in the developer name which would take heavily used by the fake app developers to trick victims into the downloading their software.

When user searching for WhatsApp in the Google Play Store, example, and user can find in the results various clones and apps that promise services related to the Facebook messaging platform. After the controversy according to Forbes, developer of this fake version of WhatsApp changed the name of the application in question.
